The Rs. 7980 million Beach Tourism Circuit will be executed through the Kerala Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation (KITCO), Mr. K. C. Venugopal, Minister for Tourism told the State Assembly. The beaches included in the project are Shankhumugham, Cherayi, Nattika, Payyambalam, Meenkunnu and Muzhupilangad. The minister also informed that employment opportunities provided by the tourism sector has shown a healthy growth. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, 788,600 jobs were created in the sector during 2005-06, the minister said.
